Siul Reynoso presents a singular sound informed by the complexities of an equally singular identity. A uniquely memorable songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist, Siul’s lo-fi surf rock gems are defined by his ability to balance and integrate American pop music with traditional Mexican styles like Ranchera and Cumbia to create something truly new.
Spending various parts of his childhood in both Mexico and the United States, it was often difficult to feel as if he was fully a part of either culture or country. This lack of belonging was confirmed by the nickname he received from his friends in Mexico: ‘Gabacho’, which means ‘foreigner’ in Spanish. He is able to express himself lyrically in both Spanish and English, and sometimes Spanglish, helping him to resonate with audiences in Latin America, the United States, and the broader English speaking world. Most importantly, his ability to hold both cultures has given him a special place in the hearts of Latino Americans, many of whom understand the unique pains and privileges of a multifaceted cultural background.
Siul debuted his Gabacho project in 2019, and has since released a steady stream of singles and music videos that have caught the attention of notable blogs, radio stations, and Spotify playlists.
Building off of this early success since emerging as a solo artist, he has had a number of impressive collaborations, chief among them being his recently released single ‘Shulaguapa’ with Mexican indie star Caloncho, which has accumulated over three million plays on Spotify alone. Other recent collaborations include his 2021 single ‘Los Feels’ with Mexican indie artist Dromedarios Magicos, and his 2021 single ‘I Would LikeThat’, released in collaboration with French indie label Nice Guys Records. Gabacho as a 5-piece band travelled to Mexico in March 2022 succesfuly completing a 6-date tour sharing the stage with band Ramona.
Released in March 2023, the debut album Parque was well received by social media and streaming servies alike reaching 1M plays within a month of it's release. This album exposed the wide range of composition and sounds the projecting has building up to since it's inception. Thanks to the collaboration with musical and visual artists from around the world, Gabacho was able to complete a cohesive vision the can be played without pause on vinyl.
